October 4-7, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA | You're invited to join us at the October 2010 Face-to-Face
Meeting of the IFX Forum , which will take place October 4-7 in Milford, Ohio
(near Cincinnati), USA, generously hosted by TCS. Representatives of our member companies will
convene to work on and discuss the future direction of the IFX specification.
We encourage anyone who is interested in the
progress of standards for financial
data exchange to join us and help plan the next wave of enhancements and
extensions to IFX, following IFX 2.1.
The four active Working Groups -- ATM/POS, Branch Banking
Services, Business Banking and Card Management & Servicing -- will have
hands-on working sessions, followed by Architecture Committee discussions for
all attendees. These quarterly meetings
are an important platform for the Working Groups' efforts, in addition to the
teleconferences that move their work along in between events. The Steering Committee will also meet to
cover business topics, and there will be a brief Members' Meeting as well.
Non-members, as always, are cordially invited to attend the
meeting to "test drive" Forum activities before joining, for a fee of
$695 per person, which can be applied toward the first year's dues. Or, non-members can join the Forum in advance
of the meeting and send any number of representatives at no charge. IFX Forum members may send as many attendees
as they like at no charge. For more

 | IFX Forum Plays on the World Stage
|
Since its inception, the IFX Forum has
made it a point to work with other major standards development organizations in
the financial services sector worldwide.
The Forum has been a major contributor
to the development of the ISO (International Organization
for Standardization; http://www.iso.org)
20022 UNIversal
Financial Industry Message scheme (UNIFI), an international standard that
defines the ISO platform for development of financial message standards. The IFX Forum co-founded the IST Harmonisation
team (ISTH), and we were in fact the
first organization to deliver support for ISO 20022, in IFX 1.6.
Currently, the IFX Forum is active as a
Category A Liaison organization to the ISO TC (Technical Committee) 68's SC
(Subcommittee) 7, sending our representatives to its meetings around the
world.
Recently, the IFX
Forum and the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN; http://www.bian.org), signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) outlining plans to collaborate in developing and furthering the
adoption of standards that enhance interoperability within the banking
industry. In addition, the Forum participates directly
in relevant conferences on standards development, including those held by ANSI
(American National Standards Institute; http://www.ansi.org/)
and the financial forum Sibos -- see accompanying article about
President Richard Urban's attendance at Sibos 2010.
