Kavi Mailing List Manager Help

Appendix D. Kavi Mailing List Manager Default Types

Table of Contents

User Types

Default types cannot be deleted, but they can be edited.

These tables include the Kavi® Mailing List Manager default types only, and do not include types installed by default by other applications. If you want information on other default types, see Kavi® Members Default Types, which documents Kavi Members default types and provides links to documentation of other Kavi applications default types.

To see all roles, including custom roles as well as those installed by default, Super Administrators can use the Kavi Members Manage Roles Tool.

Note

Mailing list moderators aren't defined by a default type, but are created by adding an individual's email address to a list of moderator addresses. For more information, see How to Moderate a Mailing List.

User Types

User Types are used to classify users according to their relationship to the organization. They commonly confer roles that grant access privileges. There is one default User Type.

Table D.1. Default User Types

Name Default roles Category Description
Mailing List Admininistrator mlm_admin admin Mailing List Administrators are responsible for configuring individual mailing lists, managing aliases associated with these lists and lists of subscribers. They have the authority to add, edit or delete moderators and posters, but are not responsible for the actual moderation of the lists. They have access to subscriber and log reports. The Mailing List Administrator should be familiar with the organization's purpose, values, structure and the intended use of each list (who should be able to subscribe and how, who should post) in order to configure the list properly.
