Chapter 41. Edit a User

Overview

Company administrators can use this tool to edit user accounts of their company representatives.

Use the Edit a User tool to:

  • Review information about one of your company representatives.

  • Modify this user's information.

How to use the Edit a User tool

Edit a User

Edit your representative's information, including personal and contact information. You will not be able to edit this person's password or username.

Most options are self-explanatory. Some that may not be include:

Personal Info

Enter the user's name and title exactly as it should appear on an address label. The name and title entered here may be displayed on the company roster (depending on your organization's privacy policy and the user's privacy preference settings), in any Kavi® Groups in which the user participates and on other dynamic lists.

Contact Information

Enter email and phone contact information.

Note

Depending on site configuration, an email address may not be required. However, unless a valid primary email address is provided, the user will not be able to receive login information or other email notifications automatically.

Company Contact Types

Assign or revoke Company Administration and Contact Types to reflect any special positions your representative holds with respect to the organization. Editing these types will usually change the user's access level. For more information on the access assigned through these types, click the link to Company Administration and Contact Types.

Preferences

In the Preferences section, select your privacy option. Selecting to hide your personal information will either completely hide your details or hide only certain information depending on how the organization is configured. Each organization can choose whether to offer these choices and then how to respect each user's preference. To learn about how this organization may use your information, read the guidelines provided under the Preferences heading and the organization's privacy policy.

If you select 'No, do NOT share information', your information or entire account can be hidden, depending on the site configuration. Selecting 'No, do NOT share information' has the following effects:

  • Removes (or partially hides) you from a roster of people from the same company available to this company.

  • Removes (or partially hides) you from membership rosters and directories.

  • In Kavi Groups, sets 'Display my address and phone number in addition to my name and email address' to No.

Administrators may also use this field to make decisions about any other places you may be displayed that are unique to this site.

Notify User of Change

Select if you want to notify the user about the change in the personal or contact information. If you choose to notify, an email will be send to the user. >
