Kavi® Members Help

Chapter 42. Delete a User

Overview

Depending on site configuration, privileged company representatives such as Company Admins and Primary Contacts may be able to use the Delete a User tool to delete representatives of their company. If you are a Company Admin and this tool is not available to you, you will have to contact your Organization Admin when a company representative needs to be deleted.

Deleting a user permanently removes this user's record from the Kavi Members database and instantly revokes this user's access to all protected Web site pages and content. Mailing list subscriptions held under email addresses listed in this user's record will be automatically removed by the daily database synchronization operation. Any subscriptions this user may hold as a public subscriber (under an email address not associated with their company representative account) will not be affected.

Note

This tool is available to Company Admins, Primary Contacts and other company representatives who have been assigned a Company Administration and Contact Type that confers the 'company_admin' role, assuming the site is configured to allow companies to remove their own representatives.

Use the Delete a User tool to:

Permanently delete one of your company representatives from the database.

How to use the Delete a User tool

Search for a User

Name or Email

Enter a full or partial value for the first name, last name, username or email address of the user or group of users whose information you want to view, or leave this field blank to see all users who meet your search criteria. To increase the number of potential matches, expand the search by entering a partial value in this field and consider leaving other search fields set to the default values. To reduce the number of potential matches, provide more complete values in this field and consider setting other fields to further restrict the search.

Because the Kavi Members search functionality can perform partial matches, it is flexible and can serve many purposes. Here are a few examples:

  • Want to find all users who share an email domain? Enter just the domain portion of the email address.

  • Unable to find a user by name or email address? Perhaps it has been misspelled. Enter the first few letters of the name or email address and try the search again.

  • Not sure if the person for whom you are searching is named Dan Johnson or John Danson? You could enter 'Dan'—or 'John'—to find this individual.

Select

The results of your search are displayed; select the appropriate user.

Delete a User

Review the user's information to confirm that this is the user you wish to delete. When you are sure that you want to permanently remove this user account from the database, click 'Delete'.
